
Are you an outstanding Aboriginal educator?
Nominations are now open for the Northern Territory Education and Care Awards, which celebrate outstanding achievements of early childhood educators across the Territory.
Quality early childhood programs and services provide a strong start for all Territory children.
The awards recognise the vital contribution early childhood educators and service providers make to enrich children’s learning and achieve quality outcomes for Northern Territory children and their families.
Territorians are encouraged to nominate an educator or service that has demonstrated outstanding commitment and excellence in early childhood education provision.
This year also introduces a new theme for the Outstanding Education and Care Program Award – ‘Fostering inclusion, engagement and participation in early childhood education and care’
This award seeks to celebrate services who have demonstrated excellence in this area as part of their service provision.
The five award categories are:
- Outstanding Education and Care Program
- Outstanding Educator
- Outstanding Aboriginal Educator
- Outstanding Early Childhood Teacher
- Outstanding Leader
Chief Executive of the NT Department of Education and Training, Susan Bowden, has encouraged families and communities to recognise those making a positive difference.
“Early childhood education and care providers, leaders, educators and support staff play a crucial role in the growth and development of children, lay the foundations for lifelong learning and help shape successful educational journeys,” she said.
“These awards are an important opportunity to celebrate their dedication and the lasting impact they have on Territory children and families.”
The NT Education and Care Awards is a joint initiative of the NT Government, Child Australia and Early Childhood Australia.
Nominations close on 13 June 2025. Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on 10 October 2025 at the Hilton Double Tree Esplanade.
