Artist celebrates amazing Allstars jersey design
Aboriginal artist Elaine Chambers-Hegarty says designing the NRL Indigenous Allstars jersey was an honour she didn’t expect.
The Koa-Kuku Yalanji woman, who had previously designed Indigenous round jerseys for the Brisbane Broncos and the Cronulla Sharks, told NRL.com she was so excited to win the competition to design both the men’s and women’s jerseys.
“All Stars means a lot to me and to all our mob, and everyone gets behind it. It’s one of the main rugby league games we all follow,” she said.
The 2025 jumper is predominantly blue and green, representing the land, while the orange and yellows reflect the sun and sunrise and sunset.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait artefacts and musical instruments represent Indigenous ceremonies and the drawings of an emu, turtle and snake represent the people of the land and the sea.
