
Colab, Yurra win big at Supplier Performance Awards

Colab Construction and GBSC Yurra were Indigenous winners at the 2024 Department of Finance Supplier Performance Awards at His Majesty’s Theatre on Perth on Tuesday evening – an event that celebrates outstanding performance by construction contractors on non-residential WA Government projects.
Colab Construction won the Best Aboriginal Contractor Award last year and this year won the Best Regional Contractor Award.
GBSC Yurra was commended for their collaboration with stakeholders and focus on Aboriginal training and employment, while iredale pedersen hook architects were recognised for their innovative modular solutions and maximising the involvement of local and Aboriginal businesses.
“A strong pipeline of future work in excess of $42.4 billion has been committed ensuring plenty more work will be available to local and Aboriginal businesses across the State,” Finance Minister Sue Ellery said.
“I congratulate them all for their exemplary work over the past two years on projects that provide the Western Australian community with new health, police, fire and emergency services and cultural facilities.”
The Award winners were:
Best Contractor: Kimberley Green Constructions
Best Regional Contractor: Colab Construction
Best Aboriginal Contractor: GBSC Yurra
Best Consultant: iredale pedersen hook architects
Best Cost Manager: Ralph Beattie Bosworth
Best Project: Perth Zoo CafĂ© and Function Centre – Crothers Construction, CHRISTOU Design Group, and Rider Levett Bucknall.
