Cost of living student payments now available
Western Australian parents and carers with school-aged children are now able to apply for hundreds of dollars in cost-of-living relief to help reduce school expenses, with claims for the 2025 WA Student Assistance Payment now open.
Families will receive payments of $250 for every secondary student and $150 for every primary and kindergarten student to help with school-related costs.
Parents who claim through ServiceWA app can receive payment in about a week.
“School’s back, and with that, I know there are often extra expenses for families,” Premier Roger Cook said.
“We are committed to providing cost-of-living support where we can and helping to ease the pressures resulting from global inflationary pressures.
“Claims open today for the WA Student Assistance Payment – I’d urge families to apply so they can get their kids what they need to thrive at school.”
Alternative claim methods are available via the Department of Education website, with paper forms available where needed.
