Deadly look to indigenous stars for NRL season opener

March 25, 2025

Rugby League’s annual All Stars event returns to CommBank Stadium in Parramatta, Sydney on February 15, with the Indigenous team sporting a deadly new kit.

The event will see the best Indigenous and Māori talent together on one field as the NRL prepares for a new season.

With Men’s, Women’s, plus a touch football match taking place, there is no better way to kickstart the NRL season, the NRL website states.

The first NRL All Stars team was assembled in 2010 to play against the Indigenous All Stars.

After a tight game the Indigenous All Stars won 16-12 thanks to a last minute try from Jamie Soward.

The Indigenous side will see captain Latrell Mitchell, Josh Addo-Carr, Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow, Kotoni Staggs and debutant Alofiana Khan-Pereira making up a sizzling back five while Nicho Hynes and Braydon Trindall are the halves.
