Ella weaves new story for Country Fest
For First Nations communities, Sydney’s Inner West has ancestral connections, where music and storytelling have been pivotal in preserving heritage and community bonds.
Tomorrow, as part of the Inner West Country Fest, Mindjiigari Ngurru – “From Sky to Country” in Dharawal language – aims to celebrate the connection between First Nations culture and the Inner West.
A true champion of First Nations culture, Ella Havelka will be showcasing her weaving skills at this year’s event.
Ella has made history as the first Aboriginal dancer to join The Australian Ballet.
Her journey from Dubbo to the national stage is a testament to her resilience and dedication. She also founded The ELLA Foundation, which provides arts opportunities and inspiration to First Nations youth.
