In celebration of NAIDOC Week, the WAFL’s Perth Football Club will adopt the name ‘Boorloo Football Club’.

This honours the Whadjuk Noongar people, traditional custodians of the Perth area, the region the club is named after and calls home.

They first adopted the name in 2023, and by continuing this initiative during Round 14 it reflects our ongoing commitment to reconciliation.

The club aims to raise awareness and foster meaningful conversations about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture by honouring the cultural significance of the Indigenous name ‘Boorloo’ during this important week of celebration.
