Funding boost for family and domestic violence counselling

March 17, 2025

A total of 10 Western Australian organisations across the State will share in $3.1 million to deliver community-based counselling and advocacy services.

The State government says it will provide an additional 4,000 counselling sessions, supporting healing and recovery work for victim-survivors of family and domestic violence, including children and young people.

“We know there has been an increase in both the demand for counselling and advocacy services and the complexity of client needs,” Prevention of Family and Domestic Violence Minister Sabine Winton said.

“The organisations who provide these services play a vital role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of victim-survivors.”

The funding forms part of a $96.4 million 2024-25 State Budget package to address the scourge of family and domestic violence.

The successful recipients are:

  • Anglicare, Great Southern
