Graffiti damage leaves locals angry
Vandals have damaged a cultural waterfall in north-east Victoria with graffiti, leaving local community leaders outraged.
Paradise Falls in the Alpine National Park includes a 3o metre waterfall and is popular with both indigenous people and tourists.
Local residents discovered the damage to the rock face on the weekend.
Kitty Barnett told the ABC Paradise Falls was not only a spiritual place but a beautiful piece of Australia.
“You hope when people visit these areas, they will respect them, and it’s just devastating when they destroy places that are significant,” she said.
“It’s just thoughtless, mindless.”
Victoria Police said they are investigating the incident.
