Hayne return to league postponed
Controversial rugby league player Jarryd Hayne’s return to the game didn’t happen on the weekend after a hamstring injury prevented him from turning out for the Wentworthville Magpies in Sydney.
Hayne, 37, singed a oner-year contract with the NSWRL, but was not named in the side to play the Ryde-Eastwood Hawks in the third tier Ron Massey Cup competition.
The former Parramatta star, who played briefly in the NFL, was charged with two counts of sexual intercourse without consent over an alleged incident in 2018 and found guilty at two separate trials.
But the conviction was overturned in June last year and he was released from jail.
