Honouring little footsteps into the future

May 24, 2025

SNAICC – National Voice for our Children’s theme for National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day 2025 will honour the journeys our children take as they grow.

Little Footsteps, Big Future wants to recognise the importance of nurturing children’s voices and dreams.

“Our vision is for our children to thrive, be strong in culture and connected to kin and community — our children should be proud to come from the oldest living culture in the world,” CEO Catherine Liddle said.

Each year, hundreds of early years services, education centres, sporting clubs, organisations and communities across Australia host Children’s Day events to mark the day, coming together to celebrate the strength, resilience and potential of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children.

Children’s Day 2025 falls on Monday,August 4, and SNAICC would love to see communities celebrating.
