New and emerging WA Aboriginal artists revealed
Western Australia’s popular showcase of Aboriginal art, Revealed: New and Emerging WA Aboriginal Artists has returned to Perth/Boorloo in the heart of the Perth Cultural Precinct.
Revealed has become an annual celebration of Aboriginal art and culture since its inception in 2008.
Now in its 17th year, the unmissable showcase of artworks from emerging Aboriginal artists from across WA is now led and governed by the Aboriginal Art Centre Hub WA.
“The Revealed Exhibition and Art Market highlights artists at various stages in their careers, bringing together artists from some of the most renowned Aboriginal art centres in Australia, alongside emerging independent artists,” Creative Industries Minister Simone McGurk said.
“Revealed has been delivered under the custodianship of Aboriginal Art Centre Hub Western Australia since 2023, making it a fully Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander-led and governed exhibition.
“As WA’s biggest Aboriginal arts event of the year, Revealed offers a rare chance to purchase work from the artists, with all proceeds going directly to them and their communities, which supports the continuation of emerging Aboriginal artists’ practices.”
Featuring more than 35 stalls, the Revealed Art Market is the only place in Perth where you can buy directly from Aboriginal artists with 100 per cent of sales going directly to art centres and makers.
Hosted at WA Museum Boola Bardip, market attendees will also be entertained with free performances from Nyumbi dancers, DJ sets, artist talks and live demonstrations.
The Revealed Exhibition will be open to the public until June 15.
