Nominations open for 2025 Brolga Awards

May 24, 2025

Nominations are now open for the NT’s most prestigious tourism and hospitality awards, the 2025 Brolga Northern Territory Tourism Awards.

The Northern Territory’s official tourism awards program, the NT Brolga Awards recognise NT tourism businesses that strive for excellence in all areas of their operations, with the winners in the running to win an Australian Tourism Award.

“The Brolga Awards are the NT tourism industry’s highest accolades, providing recipients with the opportunity to represent the Northern Territory and have their business celebrated Australia-wide,” Department of Tourism and Hospitality, Acting Executive Director Industry Development, Rachel Telford said.

“Local businesses are encouraged to get on board and nominate today – the awards are a wonderful opportunity to celebrate your achievements with your team and industry colleagues.

“Earlier this year eight NT tourism businesses were awarded accolades at the Australian Tourism Awards including two Gold, four Silver and two Bronze, an exceptional achievement for the Territory.”

Territory-based tourism operators, attractions, accommodation providers, festivals and events and industry suppliers are all encouraged to nominate their business in one of the 26 business categories that range from Tourism Attractions to Business Event Venues, Tourism Restaurants and Catering Services, and many more.

The Brolga Awards also recognise the efforts of individuals working in the tourism industry, with individual winners celebrated for their contribution within the Territory.

A new NT category this year will recognise creativity in marketing and promotion activity by any tourism and hospitality business in the NT.

The 2025 Awards program also sees some changes to the submission process, designed to make it more streamlined and efficient for nominees.

Key changes include a simplified question set, a guided response format, and a reduced word count.

Winners of the Brolga Awards business categories go on to represent the Northern Territory at the Australian Tourism Awards.

2024 Brolga Award winner, Katherine Outback Experience, took out Gold on the national stage at the 2024 Qantas Australian Tourism Awards for the Tourist Attraction category earlier this year, joining Darwin Festival who were awarded Gold in the Major Festivals and Events category.

Awarded silver at the national awards were Darwin Convention Centre, Safari Lodge Motel, SEIT Tours and Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia – Wintjiri Wiru.

Bronze winners from the Territory were NT Driver Guide- Escorted Touring and Uluru Audio Guide.
Nominations are free, with a range of assistance available to aid nominees with their Brolga Award submission.

Nominations open today, 30 April 2025 and close Wednesday 6 August 2025, with all submissions due by 3 September 2025.

Finalists will be recognised at the industry’s night of nights held in Darwin. The 2025 Brolga Northern Territory Tourism Awards gala dinner will be held on Saturday 8 November.
