Indigenous rugby league star Larry Corowa wants current league star Latrell Mitchell to stop playing the ‘vain game’ – looking at himself on the big screen during matches – and ‘become a team player.’
Mitchell has been widely criticised recently as his South Sydney team have yet to register a win this season.
‘Latrell doesn’t do himself any favours – he just needs to concentrate on being the class player he is and do everything to win for the team,’ the former Balmain Tigers great told Nine’s Wide World of Sport.
‘He needs to let his football do the talking – stop looking at the big screen, stop [trying to be] intimidating.
‘Be a team player [each week] and everyone will love the new Latrell.
‘Put your head down, train harder, simple … and the results will come.’
Souths meet the Bulldogs on Friday evening in game that could determine the future of coach Jason Demetriou.
Another loss could spell the end for Demetriou, with questions raised about Mitchell;s and other players’ performances.
