NT grants to celebrate Aboriginal culture
By PETER ROWE
Grants of up to $5,000 are now available in the NT for Indigenous groups to recognise Aboriginal culture, language, history, and achievements as part of Australia Day 2025 celebrations.
The Celebrating Aboriginal Culture (Australia Day) grant runs in addition to the Australia Day Council Small Community Grant Program, which helps support how Aboriginal people and communities want to celebrate and recognise the day.
“The Celebrating Aboriginal Culture (Australia Day) grant program helps to deliver events and commemorations that recognise Aboriginal culture, language, history and achievements,” Aboriginal Partnerships and Reform, Senior Executive Director Shaneen Tilmouth said.
“The grants are open Territory wide, and we encourage Aboriginal Territorians and community groups with ideas to apply, to support respectful celebrations of Australia Day.”
Applications are open now, and eligible events and activities can be held from 18 January to 2 March 2025.
Successful applicants will be notified during December 2024.
