Officer who shot Indigenous woman quits police
A police officer who shot and killed an Indigenous woman in WA’s Midwest six years ago has resigned from WA Police.
Mr Wyndham was charged with murder over the death, but was acquitted after a Supreme Court trial in 2021.
A WA Police spokesperson told the ABC Mr Wyndham left the force last year.
“The officer is no longer a member of WAPF, he tendered his resigned [sic] effective December 2024, the spokesperson saud.
“WAPF have no further comments to make in respect to this matter.”
JC’s mother Anne Jones welcomed the news but said she had not been made aware that Mr Wyndham had left.
“It also affected me and everyone of my family members … and friends that knew her,” she said.
“It affected the whole lot of us.”
