Ord Valley Muster drives droves to the Kimberley
The Ord Valley Muster kicks off this week, with a stellar line-up of Australian artists bringing crowds of visitors to the East Kimberley region.
The annual music festival is an established highlight on Western Australia’s regional events calendar, bringing close to 1,500 out-of-region visitors to Kununurra in 2024, and generating millions of dollars for the local economy.
“We’re excited to see thousands of visitors converge in our incredible East Kimberley region to experience the Ord Valley Muster, and in particular, the Kimberley Moon Experience, which features a stellar line-up of Australian musicians,” Tourism Minister Reece Whitby said.
“The WA Government has proudly supported the Ord Valley Muster for the last 20 years, as we know regional events like this add real vibrancy to our regional communities and provide a boost for local tourism and hospitality businesses, which help diversify our economy.
“Kununurra is the perfect backdrop for this event – with its vast, stunning landscapes and remarkable experiences – and while visitors may come for the Ord Valley Muster, we encourage them to stay longer and explore further.”
A major drawcard this year is world-famous Australian artists Lime Cordiale, Thelma Plum and Mark Seymour & The Undertow, who will perform at the iconic Kimberley Moon Experience as part of the event program.
The WA Government has proudly supported the Ord Valley Muster for 20 years. The 2025 and 2026 event are supported through Tourism WA’s Regional Events Program.
Taking place every year in May, the Ord Valley Muster provides a time-specific reason for travellers to explore the vast Kimberley region during the dry season and is one of the many vibrant regional events that are part of the WA Government’s ‘always on, year-round’ calendar of events.
