Passengers ‘rocked’ by Murujuga visit

April 30, 2025

Passengers from the Coral Adventurer small-ship cruise enjoyed a cultural tour on Murujuga, viewing ancient rock art and artefacts and learning about Murujuga from the Murijiga Aboriginal Rangers.

About 100 passengers took the opportunity to swim and buy souvenirs and merchandise from local indigenous businesses in a visit that is hoped was the first of many.

Ship expedition leader Wayne Hamilton said Murujuga was a highlight for the passengers, who began their cruise in Fremantle and had earlier stopped at the Abrolhos Islands, Shark Bay, Ningyalu and the Muiron and Serrurier islands.

“This is just brilliant,” he said. “The passengers loved the cultural engagement.”

Murijiga Aboriginal Corporation member businesses who are interested in participating in future cruise ship visits are urged to contact MAC. Email [email protected] or call 9144 4112.
