Police call for safe partying on NYE
WA Police are urging citizens to stay safe on the roads and on the water on New Year’s Eve adding that anyone who breaks the law will be subject to “police intervention.”
Commander Quentin Flatman said police will be monitoring for knife usage in key Perth metro areas and will targeting unsafe road users.
“If you are using alcohol or drugs while driving you will get caught,” Cmdr Flatman said.
“We hope everyone across the State has a great night and we wish you a Happy New year.”
Roadside booze buses will be deployed across the State in numbers and police will on beaches, at events and on the waterways to ensure everyone’s safety.
Double demerits remain in place until January 5.
