The NRL’s Indigenous round is not just about the NRL – it also encompasses all its state bodies and competitions and it celebrated in Western Australia this week ahead of the NRLWA’s own Indigenous round this weekend.
The Fremantle Roosters, who have several Indigenous players, held a smoking ceremony for their senior and junior communities with an intimate ceremony lead by Kaisha Jetta, who explained the stories behind the Men’s jersey: Beeliar Boodja and the Women’s jersey: Jurdoo Dreaming.
Players walked through the smoking ceremony with their new Jerseys while listening to Uncle Trevor Stack.
The evening ended with a performance from Adrian Tanner and Tai Morrison.
