Seven people stranded for days in Western Australia’s flooded outback have been found safe.

The three adults and four children, aged between seven and 17, left Boulder in two cars on Sunday morning and failed to arrive at the remote Aboriginal community of Tjuntjuntjara in WA’s Goldfields as planned.

Tjuntjuntjara, about 650kms north east of Boulder, is home to about 200 people managed by the Paupiyala Tjarutja Aboriginal Corporation on behalf of the Spinifex people.

WA Police confirmed they had found the family after a Police aircraft was able to get airborne on Wednesday afternoon and rescue efforts were currently underway to reach them.

Police released a photo taken from the helicopter showing all seven people standing around their stranded car.

The search for the missing travellers in the Goldfields has ended successfully with the family found.
