SNAICC conference registration extended

June 20, 2025

The SNAICC’25 National Conference has extended registration for the event in Brisbane in October to June 13.

Expected to be one of the largest Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander-focused conferences in the country, we are anticipating 2000 delegates from 400 organisations including front-line workers, policy makers, researchers, educators, government representatives and students.

The theme is Our Culture. Keep it Strong. We Belong, highlighting the strength and resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families. SNAICC’25 is an opportunity for those working in the child safety, early education and family supports sectors to gather, share knowledge and experiences, and work towards building systems and practices that support children and families to thrive.

Confirmed presenters now include journalist Narelda Jacobs OAM, Dr Katrina Wruck (Young Australian of the Year 2025), Adjunct Professor Joe Williams, Fiona Jose, CEO of Cape York Partnerships and Professor Jack Beetson, as well as a panel of Children’s Commissioners.

At the heart of the conference are the voices of diverse communities and organisations across Australia expressed through a strong program of 84 breakout sessions.

Christine Anu and band, Chris Tamwoy, Mark Atkins, DJ Big Mike, professional dance companies, children’s choirs, local artists and other cultural performances will be perform across the three days of the conference.

The event will take place in Meanjin/Brisbane from 7-9 October.
