Survival Day Concert a celebration of Indigenous talent

March 17, 2025

The Supreme Court Gardens in Perth came alive on Sunday with the vibrant sounds of the Birak Survival Day Concert— a powerful event that brought together music, culture, and community to honour the resilience and strength of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

This year’s concert featured a stellar lineup of performers, including Indigo Ellis, Bobby Bennell, and the Pabai Family, all of whom have deep connections to the Indigenous Arts Foundation and are proud participants of our See It Be It Program.

Their performances were a true celebration of Indigenous talent, offering powerful stories, rhythms, and songs that echoed the enduring spirit of survival and cultural pride.

The concert provided a platform for these artists to showcase their unique voices and perspectives, while also fostering a sense of unity and belonging within the broader community.

As part of the Indigenous Arts Foundation, our involvement in the Birak Survival Day Concert highlights our ongoing commitment to supporting Indigenous artists and amplifying their voices on both local and national stages.

It was a day of reflection, celebration, and connection—a reminder of the strength and resilience of Indigenous cultures and the importance of coming together to listen, learn, and grow.

“We’re grateful to everyone who attended, supported, and celebrated with us,” chief executive Phil Walleystack said.

“Events like these not only honor the past but also pave the way for a future filled with hope, pride, and cultural recognition.

“We look forward to continuing this journey with our incredible artists and supporters.”
