Tigers support indigenous youth in Bendigo
Richmond Football Club’s centre for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth programs, Korin Gamadji has partnered with Catherine McAuley College in Bendigo, Victoria to support indigenous players in the AFL.
Bendigo is an important region to the blub as it is a part of its Next Generation Academy zone.
The Tigers work in the Bendigo Pioneers catchment area, supporting players into the game both at community level and into the elite talent pathway system.
Korin Gamadji delivers programs that support leadership, cultural growth and social and emotional wellbeing for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.
“Building on our existing presence and initiatives in Bendigo, this hub will strengthen our connection with students and other First Nations community members in the region,” programs manager Brady Cooper said.
Korin Gamadji has a successful record of more than a decade in delivering impactful programs to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth aged between 13 and 18 years.
“Our strong connection with the traditional Dja Dja Wurrung owner group will ensure we continue our meaningful work with these young people and the community,” Mr Cooper added.
