The 2024 Revealed – New and Emerging WA Aboriginal Artists initiative closed at Fremantle Arts Centre in August with fantastic outcomes in its first year under the leadership of the Aboriginal Art Centre Hub of Western Australia.

More than 20,000 people attended the 2024 Revealed exhibition and associated events including artist talks and the one-day art market, with sales from the exhibition and art market exceeding $550,000.

These outcomes show a strong return to attendance and sales prior to the pandemic.

Looking ahead to 2025, Revealed will take an exciting new direction, moving to the Perth Cultural Centre.

The exhibition will be held at the Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts (PICA), while the art market will take place at the WA Museum Boola Bardip in April.

The WA State government is continuing its support with $930,000 invested over three years.

“Since taking the reins in November 2023, AACHWA’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander leadership and governance of Revealed has seen great success,” Culture and the Arts Minister David Templeman said.

“The WA Government is proud to support AACHWA in delivering these Aboriginal-led changes to Revealed, which will profile our artists and communities in a new light and extend audience engagement opportunities for Western Australia’s Aboriginal artists and art centres.”
