Indigenous NRL star Latrell Mitchell made an early dash from the NSW Blues camp yesterday morning, after playing a starring role in Wednesday night’s Origin clash, to team up with children at a footy clinic in Taree on the NSW mid-coast.

More than 100 kids turned out to greet Mitchell at the clinic after he had jumped on a 6.40am flight out of Melbourne.

“I love coming back here,” Mitchell told Channel 9. “It’s good to get away, get a break – and to come to this just fills my cup up again.”

And the locals love Latrell.

“Shout out to Latrell Mitchell,” the Myall River Hawks Junior Rugby League Club posted on Facebook.

“Played Origin last night, flew into Taree this morning for a footy clinic with 100+ kids.”
