Winter weekend of Blak excellence

June 20, 2025

Awesome Black will descend on Brookvale’s 7th Day Brewery on Sydney’s northern beaches for a full-throttle winter weekender of Blak excellence this month – blending live music, native flavours, visual art, storytelling, and community.

The three-day event celebrates First Nations creativity and culture, presented in partnership with Brookvale Arts District (BAD) and 7th Day Brewery, supported by the Office of the 24-Hour Economy Commissioner (NSW).

First Nations enterprise Bush to Bowl will bring their bush food brilliance to the taps – collaborating with the brewery on native-infused beers and margarita salts.

They’ll also host a weekend of workshops on native food knowledge and preparation.

A new visual art series will feature works by Jade Goodwin, Jeswri, Dylan Finney, and K-Rae (Kimberly Enwright) from the Solid Lines artist roster.

These large-scale posters will feature interactive Augmented Reality experiences thanks to BAD, and will be available for sale across the weekend.

There will be nightly headline sets from Dobby, Isaac Compton, and Tjaka, plus performances from Elina, Lemonise, Bow and Arrow, and more – including a brand-new ambient soundscape commission and one secret performance to be revealed.

A special edition Awesome Black beer will also be launched for the event. $1 from every sale will go to support The Ella Foundation and the Awesome Black Foundation.
